Ketchikan

Ketchikan is located about 90 miles north of Prince Rupert, British Columbia and 235 miles south of Juneau. It is the 11th largest island in Alaska has an average of 152 inches of rainfall per year.
We decide to do the "Misty Fjords National Monument" excursion which is about 4 hours of gorgeous scenery with whale, bald eagles and harbor sea sightings.
The Tongass National Forest encompasses over 2 million acres of lush vegetation, granite cliffs, 1,000-foot waterfalls and a lot of wildlife. So for me it's a photographers dream.
But to be honest for the teenagers, well not so much. They probably would rather of done something more active like ziplining or ATV'ing. Don't get me wrong. Ziplining was a choice that one wanted to do and the other didn't. I still think I'll just sign up for the active one next time or let them stay on the ship because they love the teens club and we' ll do the "boring excursion". After we had clam chowder and sock eye salmon on top of a cracker served complimentary by the tour operator, we let the kids go back to the ship while we check out the little town.
