Sète known as Cette until 1928, is a commune in the Hérault department in the region of Occitania in southern France. Its inhabitants are called Sétois.
I booked an excursion to Pezenas and The Abbey of Valmagne, and I'm so glad I did that one. It was a 4 hr. excursion and about a 30 minute drive from the port to Pezenas. Pezenas is a charming, small village with boutiques, shops and restaurants. There was a short guided walk and a little free shopping time. Honestly I wish we had more time to walk around because we felt a little rushed, and we are fast walkers. Walking through old town we got to experience the 17th century mansions with elegant balconies and ornate doorways. Some of these were turned into apartments.
At the end of our trip, my husband said he could see himself retiring to this little village, and still talks about doing it. You never know!
